The Confluence is a set neck, 24 fret 2 humbucker design, built with comfort and ergonomics in mind. Lots of sculpting involved for a great feel sitting, or standing. Primarily a dual humbucker guitar, this is a great opportunity to add some hand wound Goede pickups! (Humbuckers are my specialty)
Along with comfort, Versatility is also a priority... using a "volume/3 way switch/tone/tone layout, with 2 push/pull pots, activating the coil tap for each pickup and 2 blendable tone values, this guitar can do it all! From Smooth jazz to hard rock, and everything in between.
A "double cut" version is available, and it is a great option for players that need a little more access up on top of the fretboard. Same great balance, comfort and versatility.
A lot of sculpting and contouring of the body, both front AND back, make for a comfortable playing experience. No neck heels to smack your hand into, no sharp points to jab your ribcage, nothing to distract you while you play, other than the tone that comes out of these beauties.
The Estrella is a very inspired design, no doubt. However, it is also very unique. This model is a great option for my "Texas Native" series of instruments (I use local native woods for this series, such as Pecan, mesquite, walnut, etc....) Of course, I build these in your more traditional woods as well. (Just ask!)
these are 22 fret, 25.5" scale guitars, with a good amount of sculpting in the body for comfortable playing. Can be made with hand wound Goede pickups as well! In fact, on this model, I do something a little special to the neck humbucker.... I "mis-match" the coils on purpose, so that when in "split" mode, the stronger coil is on at the neck...(less jazz more country? maybe?) I don't know... but it is a great option!
While not quite as sculpted as the Confluence model, The Estrella is no slouch in that department either. In fact, ALL of my guitars are crafted with ergonomics in mind. Great balance, ease of play, access to all frets.... There's a lot of thought that goes into each design. even the more "traditional" ones
We're not "married" to the original pickup layout. On this model, "have it YOUR way" dual humbucker rock machine? check. P-90s? sure! why not? more traditional single coil options? no problem.
In fact, it's not just pickups that we can customize.... There's been several hollow body versions built already, and they rock!
Different pickguard material, no pickguard, wood choices.... the sky is the limit for this "Star" of a guitar (Estrella means "star" of course)
As y'all should know by now, I am the head luthier of Birdsong Guitars short scale basses.. (I have 2 pages on this site dedicated to them...man, what a great privilege to be the hands on that project!}
The Goede "Class" series, however, is my own standard scale (34") line of basses. the Goede Class-5 shown here, is the 1st of this model.
This one has a bubinga top (wings) walnut body, and maple accent stripes. bocote fretboard, 5 piece maple walnut neck, hipshot hardware, and Bartolini soapbar pickups. Lots of great options available for this model, including wood choices, pickup options, active/passive options.... etc.
A nice thin profile neck, great body sculpting, flowing lines and great balance.... that's just off the top of my head.... as a player, I'm used to short scale basses....but this full sized beauty of a bass just plays itself!
Serious attention to detail in every instrument made in this shop....these basses are NO exception! They are made on the same bench as the beloved Birdsong basses... by the same set of hands, "from board to bass"
however, THIS is the model for the bass player that wants a full scale option!
Please excuse our mess..... this model is currently under construction! (These are just "stock pics" holding a place in line, while I finish up the 1st sample of this model....)
Like everything we make here, this one will be no exception!
I am working on it as we speak! and I promise, this page will be filled in with all the details as soon as I get things ready to show off!
I'm shooting for Late March. Stay tuned!!!
The "Confluence bass"... well, I mean....Its the Confluence... but its a bass!
32" (medium) scale, hipshot hardware, one Delano Extender, or soapbar pickup (passive, unless requested otherwise)
Just a really cool mid-sized bass option, based off my flagship guitar design.
The one pictured is in "ready to assemble" stage. of course, I will update this section as soon as its ready.
This ones gonna be cool! and a great example of available options! It's going to be semi-hollow, with a lined ebony fretboard. With a black dyed/sanded back swamp ash top, and alder body, it will be a very lightweight, easy to play fretless bass.
Of course the Confluence bass will have the same comfortable sculpting and carving as its Guitar sized brother...easy to play sitting or standing. What a great option for a medium scale bass!
