"Where two rivers converge"

   The Confluence is considered the "Flagship design" if you will. The name has meaning, in that it is the product of "what I did before" and "what I do now" converged into one path (or river). A lot of these guitars names have to do with water or nature, being a big fan of the outdoors, I spend a lot of my spare time on the river. 

   In the original "JG Guitarworks" days, the "Karlin" which is basically the same thing- some changes were made in the shape, and some of the specs. During a "hiatus" or just the time I wasn't quite settled down, as far as living situations, the Confluence was designed. The pattern was on my wall and it took 4 years to finalize the Confluence design. This is a set-neck guitar, with sleek lines and curves all throughout. Flow is everything and it has a very versatile wiring layout, with 2 "push-pull" knobs, each one representing its intended pickup...so that when split, you end up with several tonal options in a simple easy to use package.

The basic specs for the Confluence are

24 fret 25"scale set neck with a 12" radius

Dual splittable hand-wound humbuckers

Tune-O-matic bridge

Heavily contoured for comfort and designed for perfect balance sitting or standing

  This guitar, while it looks familiar, I still designed it on paper, from scratch with my own lines, curves and specs. It IS a great offering if you want something unique with a bit more of a "familiar" feel to it.

As with all these guitars, its super comfortable, with ergonomics in mind. the body is heavily carved for comfort and it balances like a champ!

  I actually make these in 2 versions.... the original, where everything is "Set back" about an inch or so, to aid in the balance and feel, and the "B" version, where i scoot it all back up, to make room for a Bigsby Tremelo (shown in this example).

  I love using locally sourced Native to Texas hardwoods when I can, and the Estrella is a perfect candidate for that! Pecan Mesquite, Black walnut, Cypress..... and a few others as well!

  A little info about the pickups in the Estrella... If I'm using my own hand-wound pickups, i tend to wind the bridge a tad hotter than normal,(but not crazy...) and the humbucker in the neck position i do an "Un-even split" configuration, where one coil is slightly "over-wound" as compared to the other.... so that when this pickup is in coil split mode, you get "closer" to a neck single coil as an option to emulate the more traditional setup somewhat.

I know its not exactly like the original, but as with all my guitars, that's not really the goal anyhow.

   Standard specs for this model are

22 fret, 25.5" scale neck with a 10" radius

more medium "c" shape to the neck

hand-wound pickups with "un-even split " humbucker in the neck

one or 2 piece bodies with a complimenting wood pick-guard

This guitar has a lot of personal meaning for me...and it is the only design that remains un-changed from the "old days"

  I have always played somewhat "heavier music" (although I love ALL styles of music) but there's definitely a piece of me that lives amongst the sonic thunder of a Marshall halfstack and grinding thump of a high output humbucker, creating an absolute WALL of sound ...

   "Harmony through chaos" actually refers to my way of approaching the world around me. I guess you can put it like this...I have managed to find a way to maintain a certain calmness and peace through the chaos in the world around me. And lets face it... its been a bit of a ride this last few years! 

But this guitar is my testament to all that. and that is why I left it the way it is...

volume/tone/3 way switch with coil splitting available.

   The "Delta" guitar Is my most recent design.....however, it is somewhat modeled after a guitar I designed and built several years ago. Waaaaay back in the early days of my guitar building adventures! (Its come a long way....) The example shown here is the "Prototype"

I'm designing this guitar as my answer to all those straight angle having, "get me noticed on stage" off the wall sort of thing.. 

   I am thinking this one here, could be an absolute shred monster if we wanted to make it one.... or maybe I can make it pay homage to the good ol "explo....." you know what I mean. those classics with the big bodies that come with T.O.M bridges and Paf humbuckers.... that people play ALL TYPES of music on. the sky's the limit really with is one. 

I may offer it with a Floyd or Kahler bridge as well. who knows... maybe you do?

as far as the rest, well.... lets figure that out together!!

   The "Bern Bass" is a passive 4 or 5 string bass. offered in either 34" or 33" scale lengths. 

The example shown here is a little on the "wild side" with the flame woodwork on the top. of course, I can easily build you one with any wood combination you desire (within reason. or availability of course)

   The pickup configuration shown in this example is a Delano Extender.... an excellent choice for passive bass! I can however use any pickup configuration as long as its passive.. (double-"P", jazz, soapbars etc...)

As with all my designs, the Bern Bass is extremely well balanced sitting OR standing, and the body contours are very comfortable and ergonomic.
